Bluewater Fishing

Bluewater Fishing is based just 2kms from Clifden on the Westport Rd.

The Boat named “Bluewater” is a 42 foot Cyfish from the famous Cornish yard Cygnus Marine. She was engined and finished in Portumna, Ireland and launched in 1996 by Howard Kilroy, Governor of the Bank of Ireland.

Bluewater has the Dept. of the Marine maximum safety licence for an angling vessel allowing her to carry 12 anglers plus crew a distance of 40 miles offshore.

The boat is skippered by John Brittain, himself a keen angler with an eye for new marks, techniques and species. With John as skipper, Bluewater has succeeded in landing the first fly caught Sharks in Europe, a probable new Irish Record Skate, and the first West coast Giant Bluefin Tuna at 708lbs, not to mention a large number of Irish specimen fish. He himself holds 8 specimen certs and if there is room on the boat, John will be fishing.

John is an experienced seaman, being senior helmsman of Clifden's lifeboat and holding a Yachtmaster's Certificate.

Errislannan Connemara Pony Stud and Riding Centre,

We are located on the Errislannan Peninsula which juts out into the wild Atlantic, half way between Ballyconneely and Clifden. Sheltered by the surrounding wood the Manor overlooks the trout lake and is bounded by Connemara's moors and mountains. Riding is available on Connemara Ponies for children and adults, in their natural setting, over rough moorland, hills and coastline, all with spectacular views. Established over thirty years and giving personal attention. We have a sand arena and cross country course. Beginners and experienced riders alike are welcome. Shetlands available for tinies. We breed and school our own Connemara ponies so you can be sure of their suitability.
